TiL fragrance: a multidimensional experience profile

Published application: Polette, Polette and Vial (2025), chapter 11, pp. 156–169.

Research question

How can emotional responses to L’Eau Qui Enlace be characterised beyond overall appreciation?

Protocol

22 healthy women aged 20–60 experienced the fragrance during a single session. The assessment combined spontaneous verbal responses, subjective emotional assessment, vocal prosody and respiratory measurements.

Reported result

The chapter reports positive subjective responses and a mean respiratory-rate reduction of 15.37% relative to baseline. The integrated profile emphasises pleasure, relaxation and tenderness.

Relevance and scope

The example shows how several observations enrich fragrance characterisation. The single-session female sample limits generalisation. A respiratory change is not specific to relaxation, and the protocol does not isolate an effect of linden or establish a long-term benefit.
